We made stone soup for Thanksgiving. We LOVED it!! We added the following ingredients:
This week we have been working really hard on Project Lead the Way. We had to work in teams to create a design that would communicate over a distance. We pretended we were lost and only had: 2 plastic cups, a flashlight, 2 mirrors, tape and a water bottle to make a design that would get us found using light or sound. Here is what we designed: Mrs. Fischer and Mr. Kitslaar accepted the reading all day challenge on the roof! Brrrr... it must be cold up there. We have enjoyed listening to the books today being read to us from the roof. Here is a picture of us watching the live stream of "Rainbow Fish."
We are having a great time learning about sound in science this month. We made cup phones today and talked about vibrations. We learned that vibrations help sound travel to our ears. We had a blast at our Fall Festival. A big thank you to all the parent volunteers that came in to help or sent in a treat.
This past Friday we made applesauce as a class. We cut and cored 16 apples, added 1 cup sugar, 2 cup water and some cinnamon. We put all the ingredients in a crock-pot and cooked it on high for 5 hours. When it was done we tasted the yummy applesauce! We also water-colored some apples to hang up.
